| October in the Coachella Valley means a transition to from the hot summer temperatures to the seasonally delightful warm days and cool evenings. It also means the return of many of the valley's "snowbird" residents eager to escape the first signs of winter and bask in the endless sunshine.
October is restaurant month in Rancho Mirage. Many of the area's finest restaurants are offering special menus and 20% off discounts to celebrate the diverse and eclectic nature of our dining community. The Westin's own Bella Vista Restaurant is participating, stop in a try our Thai Curry Shrimp, it is truly amazing. Also we have kicked off Sunday Brunch with local radio station K-Jazz 102.3, it runs every Sunday from 10:00am-1:00pm. |

| The Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors return October 10th to play in the NBA's 2nd Annual Outdoor game at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. There will be lots of excitement around this game as the two teams play in this unique environment as well as prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
Psychedelic jam band favorites Phish play the Empire Polo Grounds on Halloween Weekend. The band will present its Festival 8, which will be highlighted by the band's performance of one of their favorite all-time albums, played in its entirety. To find out which album that will be, you'll just have to attend. A popular choice at this time of year is trip up Mt San Jacinto on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Ascend two and one half miles above the desert floor to pristine wilderness and comfortable summer temperatures. There is plenty to do too, from hiking and camping to dining. An easy five minute drive from the Westin makes an evening out that much more enjoyable.
